During the last several weeks, the world has found itself in the midst of a rapidly developing pandemic. The new coronavirus disease, COVID-19, has hit hard countries, resulting in entire cities being locked down and thousands of people in quarantine.
The spread of the disease has also affected the places where people spend a large portion of their day — their workplace.
At these hard times, companies are not only trying to stay afloat and develop but also ensure the safety of the employees and community members.
Changes in the Workflow
For Renderforest, the health and well-being of its team and users have always been a priority. Given how fast the situation is heating up, Renderforest has taken several steps to slow down the spread of the pandemic.
The first step the company took was entirely switching to remote work. While the home office option was always available for the team, this is our first experience having the whole team work remotely.
We’ve been lucky that the workflow of the company was not interrupted and we have the opportunity to continue improving our products even during these difficult times. Our team is working as usual, ready to assist our users anytime they may need help.
Given the situation, we have also decided to cancel all internal and external events to protect our team and the community here in Armenia. The organizational works of our second annual conference — ReInvent by Renderforest have also been put on hold for an unspecified period of time. The event was scheduled to take place in June of this year, and host around 1000 guests and speakers.
Right now, the mission of sharing accurate information and raising awareness about the things that matter seems as crucial as ever. Spreading information about how important it is to practice social distancing, wash hands thoroughly, and wear masks can help slow down the spread of the virus and save hundreds of lives.
However, as with any widely-discussed (or heated) topic among the public, many myths and misconceptions have been circulating. To separate myths from accurate facts, we have decided to create a short explainer video covering some of the more common misconceptions. Take a look at the video:
