Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and we hope you’re as excited about it as we are. Have you prepared a romantic present for your sweetheart yet? Getting a generic gift at the very last moment is a sure way to hurt their feelings. So, it’s better to come up with more creative ideas while you still have time. How about creating a Valentine’s Day video greeting?
Of course, there are tons of greetings online that you can share. But there’s nothing like one made by yourself specifically for your sweetheart. Luckily, you don’t need any editing skills to create a touching Valentine’s Day video. With our ready-made templates, surprising your loved one is not nearly as hard as you think.
To give you some inspiration, we created this sample video with one of our templates. Check it out below and follow our step-by-step tutorial to see how you can do it yourself!
Got inspired to create your own Valentine’s Day video? Then, let’s get to our tutorial!
First, you’ll need to sign in to your Renderforest account. If you don’t have one, make sure to sign up before moving to the next steps. Then, go to the “Create Video” section and type “Valentine’s Day” in the search box.
As you will see, there are many Valentine’s Day templates available. Some of them enable you to create complete videos. Others, with the word “opener” in the title, are suitable for creating intros or short standalone animations.
Take some time to familiarize yourself with the templates and find the one that matches the video you have in mind. There’s no need to click on each template for a preview. Just hover your mouse over the thumbnail, and the preview will start playing.
Whatever template catches your interest, click on it to read its description or get a closer look at the sample video.
Even if you come across a suitable template right away, it’s useful to check out some others as well. You might get inspired and come up with new creative ideas.
Once you have picked your template, click on the “Create Now” button. For the video above, we have chosen the template titled “Our Love Story”. If you have picked a different template, there could be minor differences from this tutorial, but the basics are the same.
First, click on the image holder to add photos to the editor. You can either search for suitable stock images or upload actual photos of you and your sweetheart together. The last option is preferable, as the video will turn out much more personal.
Pick images one by one for each photo holder, or upload them in bulk and let our bot place them in respective holders automatically. To undo or redo an action, click on the arrows located in the upper-left corner. In case you don’t like the result altogether and would rather start from scratch, click “Reset”.
If you decide to use stock photos, you can search for them without leaving the editor. Click on the image holder and choose the option “Stock images”. You will then be taken to an extensive library of copyright-free images. Search for thematic keywords like “Valentine’s Day”, “romance”, “love”, and pick the photos you prefer.
Click the “x” on the upper-right corner to return to the editor.
If you’d like to crop or reposition any of your images, click on the photo holder with the image and choose the “Crop” option. A screen similar to the one below will appear. Drag the image to change its position, or use the two-sided arrows below to fit it within the frame.
To crop the image, first zoom in with the “+” button and then adjust its position. If the orientation is incorrect, you can flip the image left or right.
To get an idea of how your images will look in the final video, click the “Snapshot” button. Looks pretty nice, doesn’t it?
No Valentine’s Day video is complete without a romantic message. Take a moment to think about your innermost wishes for your loved one. Write two or three sentences to express your gratitude and share your dreams for the future.
Once your message is ready, type it into the text field of the toolbar. Pay attention to the recommended character count in each field. Some are suitable for full sentences, while others are better for short phrases. With this in mind, you can break your sentences into parts, like we did in our sample video.
Once you have uploaded your images and have matched them with text, you’re almost done. Congratulations! Now, let’s get to the finishing touches.
It’s time to recall the favorite colors of your sweetheart, as we’re about to pick a color combination for the text. To do so, go to the “Color” section of the toolbar at the top. Pick an existing palette or create a customized one if you’d like. But do make sure the text is readable with the color combo of your choice.
How about adding some music to your video? Hopefully, you are well familiar with your loved one’s musical taste and can find something to match it. Browse our music library to find a suitable track or upload your own audio file.
You can make the video even more personal by adding a voice-over to it. Record a sincere and touching message and upload it to the editor. This way, you’re guaranteed to move your beloved to tears.
That’s it! Your video is ready. Click on the preview button to watch it in low resolution before exporting it in high quality. You can always make changes to it later on by going to “My Videos”.
If you’re satisfied with the result, you can export a watermarked video in 360p resolution for free. To remove the watermark and export the video in high resolution, choose one of the paid options. You can either make a single purchase or subscribe to one of our plans.
